Long Time, No Post!

Well, no posts since June! I have just been a little slack haven't I?

Life has been rather busy here! I have been working 20+ hour weeks which means I am super tired during the day and can't be bothered doing much that isn't necessary! My girls are both doing super well!

Mackenzie
Well where do I start with this amazing wee girl! Mackenzie is doing so well at school it's not even funny! Her teacher is currently holding her on level 17 for reading because if she lets her keep going up in the levels she is quite simply going to have nothing left to read! Her writing is coming along very well too. Lately it has started becoming much tidier and she is writing some 1 page + stories. She seems to be good all round with everything at school! This mumma is super proud of her! It's so hard to believe that she has already been at school 7 months!

Kaitlynn
My Kaitlynn is just like any other typical 2 and a half year old I guess! Throwing tantrums but when she isn't she is the most funny, entertaining wee girl I know! She is always dressing up like a princess, singing, dancing, being over dramatic! She is just so much fun! Kaitlynn is itching to get to kindy and can't wait until she turns 3. Wow, I can't believe she isn't far off being 3! It's insane! She is growing and learning everyday! Counting is her strong point, Kaitlynn can count to 13 very confidently and is slowly getting further through the numbers!

So there is my wee update on the girls! I will have to make sure I come and blog a bit more and well and truly get rid of them tumble weeds and spider webs!

Girls update!

It's been a while since I posted so here is a couple of updated pictures of my girls!! They seem to be looking grown up all of a sudden!

Kaitlynn.

I have one very full on girl when it comes to my wee Kaitlynn! She turned two a few weeks back and seemed to just grow overnight! With this has come more adventures from her and more risks, to be honest, I didn't think she could take too many more risks!

Since just before she turned two it seems that once one bruise disappears off her head another comes along straight away! Here are a couple of photos of the most recent ones.

This one is thanks to her getting over excited about a sleep over in her big sister's bedroom and flew off the bed head first on wooden floors.

This one is the most recent! Had her shoes on the wrong feet, flew out the front door and met the doorstep. So close to her eye!

She also got one last Friday (which is still hanging around). After helping me bake, Kaitlynn decided to get down from the table misjudged the chair and fell off head butting the wood on the arch between the lounge and kitchen. That photo is still on the Ipod, I will upload that too if I remember!

I really cannot wait for this clumsy stage to be over! I want her to be able to go out in public without it looking like I am constantly bashing her haha!

Winning

On Thursday I was watching Good Morning and decided I might as well take a chance and enter the competition they had running. It was for International Cloth Nappy Week. In the pack there was a heap of cloth nappies, a pram, Manduca baby carrier and a heap of Dimples stuff. Kaitlynn has just toilet trained herself so I knew the nappies would be no good to me, but the stroller is one I have been admiring for quite some time, just couldn't justify spending $900 on it! That's the reason I entered.

Mackenzie, Kaitlynn and I went out for ice cream in the afternoon (in that time Kaitlynn almost gave herself a black eye but that's another blog post!). When we arrived home I noticed I had a message on the answer phone from a number I didn't know. Checked it out and it was a message from a lovely lady from Good Morning asking me to ring her back. Rung her back straight away and she informed me I had won the pack. I was in shock! I have never won anything this big before! I couldn't quite believe and nothing really sunk in until I heard my name on the TV on Friday.

This morning a courier turned up with a parcel for me. A box full of cloth nappies. They are the cutest things ever! I can see how people can be so in love with them! I am so gutted that I never got the chance to use them on either of my girls! It says box 2 of 2 on it and I still don't have box 1. Am excited to see what awesome stuff I open up in that one!

I am very much looking forward to getting the stroller and Manduca. Our stroller is starting to get a bit past it so this come at a good time. It means Kaitlynn and I can get out for walks more often again. The Manduca means I can chuck her on my back and do nature walks etc with her. Here is the list of everything I have won :)

The piece of paper that come in the box this morning said everything is valued at around $3000. It really still has not sunk in!

5 years ago

This time 5 years ago I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of my baby girl! 7th March 2007 was my due date! Little did I know I still had a week to wait before I would meet her!

House!

Our house has been without spouting for quite some time now! I dreaded going out in heavy rain, it meant having to wear the water off the roof! I am now pleased to say we have new spouting yay!!

The spouting has made the house look so much more tidy! Can't believe it! Now to get onto the painting, gardens and fence! All things we are going to get done on the outside of the house this year hopefully. Hoping to get a bit done on the inside too! I love owning our own home, even if things are expensive!

Birthday!

Happy Birthday, to me :)

I have been very spoilt for my birthday this year! My girls woke me at midnight to say happy birthday and give me the gift they got me. I got Friends with Benefits on DVD. Have been wanting it since I seen it had come out!

I have been annoying David for and Ipod for the last wee while! We were keeping an eye on some on Trade Me but decided new was the best way to go! So I was very spoilt and got an Ipod Touch. I am in love with it! I have seen some of the cutest cases and can't wait to get some!

Tonight we are off for dinner and the inlaws, tomorrow we are going out for dinner with my mum. Can't wait!

Tomorrow...

I am another year older!

I already have one of my gifts but I will post more about them tomorrow!! I am excited! I haven't been spoilt on my bday for the last few years so this is going to be nice! We have lots planned for the next few days between families etc yay!

To Party Or Not.

Mackenzie has been really bad with lying lately that I don't know if we are going to have a party any more! As far as she knows she won't be getting one, she doesn't care though.

Now the thing is, I think it's important to have a 5th birthday! It's another milestone in their lives! I am now thinking maybe having a surprise party for her. Question is how would one go about it? All her friends are only 4 as well so I can't really give them an invite and say don't say something. Do I give the parents the invite and ask them not to say anything? Or just throw the party with her knowing? I really don't know!

Permanent Hours

I have been back at work about eight months now and in that time I have had three lots of interviews with two of them coming out with bad news! One I was not surprised about. Mackenzie was sick with a tummy bug and my mind was not in the interview. Second one I just missed out on getting some supervising hours.

Today I had an interview for two shifts which would have given 13 hours a week. There was one shift I really wanted as it's where I love to work! I just got the phone call to say I got the shift I wanted! So hello 8 hours a week permanent work! Was really starting to doubt that I would ever get hours! I interview really badly! If people could judge me on my work I would probably be good as gold!

Toilet Training Kaitlynn II

Today we have had more success. She has done a wee on the potty this morning and knew before she started going! She hasn't peed on the floor yesterday or today, pretty proud mummy!!

I can't believe how easily it all seems to be coming along! One thing I hate about today though is Kaitlynn has pooed on me! She may have the peeing sensation sorted but clearly not that one! Oh joy. Haven't had that happen since the newborn days!

Toilet Training Kaitlynn

We are not actively toilet training here as such! Kaitlynn has no nappy on most days and is quite happy to be that way! She will normally hold on until nap time when she has a nappy on to do anything.

Over the last week we have had some wees on the potty and even a poo! So proud of her! Mackenzie was 2 when she started training. I must say I would quite like it if I no longer had to buy nappies in my groceries!

This week...

I lost 600 grams. I wasn't expecting a lot because of my random hours at work I haven't been eating the best some days! Also due to it being night fill I have only got out for one walk!

I will keep trucking on this week and hope I lose a little more other wise my goal may not be met this month! Fingers crossed I can do it!!

Theme? DONE!

Mackenzie has asked for a princess cake, which I guess would mean a princess party? Yay, quite an easy option she went for I think! She did want My Little Pony. I haven't seen MLP party stuff in town so it was all going to have to brought online which I wasn't looking forward to haha.

This morning the list making has begun. We have part of a list of names. Colours have been sorted.

Now I need to get food sorted and hire somewhere to have it! I think I have decided on a date and time just need to get D to agree to it and make sure he has it off work! I am getting a little excited about it all, also terrified though! We have never done the theme thing before and I have no idea how it's going to go haha.

That I have picked a school that keeps their website updated! I want to get stationery sorted while the sales are on. Mackenzie doesn't need a lot being a new entrant but I want to save $$ where I can as I know what the uniform is going to cost! I have been wondering how I was going to get my hands on a stationery list as I don't know many people with kids at Ascot! Mackenzie has a couple of friends there but I'm not in contact with the parents apart from when we bump into each other or something.

Today I thought I would check out the website thinking it might be a long shot, but there they were! Yay so pleased that it's something else I should be able to get ticked off the list. I still really cannot believe I am preparing my little girl for school.

On a side note, do Postie Plus send out emails when they are having a sale? I want to know when uniforms are on special so I know when to go do a layby! I'm all for saving lots of money on this stuff lol! I love that she is starting school near the beginning of the year with all these sales!

Changing Things Up.

Things have been getting worse with Sophie, not better. She is always hungry even though she is being fed the right amounts, not listening, toileting is bad at times too.

Today I decided I'd had enough. I have changed her food. She was on a supermarket brand that I thought was ok. Now she is on Eukanuba. She seems to really like it and the food looks better.

Her treats I have changed. I was giving her chocolate drops but she seemed to be getting over them. She is now getting bacon strips so bring on the training her again! Now Christmas is over I will start spending a lot more time with her.

Toileting. She is now 4 months old. No longer pooing inside but will still wee. If she doesn't wee inside she will go on the door step beside the laundry where she sleeps. It's driving me nuts again! So back to spending 5 minutes every hour outside with her hoping she will go!

How many of you done puppy school with your puppies? I am starting to think she could do with it because of how excitable she is! She is about 10kg now and huge! She jumps up on visitors and just won't leave them alone when she sees them! I am thinking it could help? I would need to get her into one now though for it to do any good.

Back to the vet for this little miss next week too! We have been so busy we completely forgot about her 3rd vax. Woops. Hopefully with the change in diet and the walking I am doing with her he won't be telling me she is a little fat still haha!

Planning

So I am starting to think about planning Mackenzie's fifth birthday! Can't believe I am having to think about this already!!

Today she has asked if she can have a My Little Pony party, A princess party and there was something else I can't remember. I am thinking the princess party sounds the easiest but she loves My Little Pony so I dunno haha! Also I am thinking do I have it at home or hire somewhere else? Friends and family all in one or two smaller parties! So much to think of but still plenty of time to do it!

So watch this space as I pop my ideas in here as I decide on them!

Happy New Year!

A bit of a late one because I have forgotten about this place a little over the last couple of weeks!!

We had a wonderful Christmas and it seems the stuff I got the girls was good as it's still being played with now. A lot of it is normally thrown in the toybox and forgotten about.

I have been working lots, so have been rather tired and find the energy for facebook and Cheeky Monkey but that's about it really!!

New Years was fairly quiet too with a couple of drinks with friends and then went into town for a couple of hours. I never go to town and I really enjoyed it!!

This year is going to be a year of change for me! I am really looking forward to it and am really motivated. I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for my family and I!
